I had an endoscopy performed by Dr Navqi yesterday, my previous endoscopy having taken place 2 years ago and had been horrendous. The doctor had been very abrupt and had refused to attempt the procedure via my nose and had gone ahead with inserting the scope via my mouth with very little anaesthetic and I had left the procedure in tears. She gave me no feedback and one of the nurses on duty had asked if I wanted to complain I didn't but with hindsight should have. I was therefore very anxious yesterday, I shouldn't have been. After my pre checks the nurse had reassured me that Dr Navqi would try via the nose first and if unable I would be offered sedation prior to the scope being inserted via my mouth. Dr Navqi explained everything sprayed anaesthetic in both nostrils and my throat and then was able to insert through my nose. What a difference to the previous time, apart from a little discomfort the whole procedure was pain free including the taking of 5 biopsies. The worse part was the sore throat afterwards but that's to be expected and is a lot better today. Thank you Dr Navqi.

Thank you for the feedback. I am glad that this time the procedure went well for you. Indeed trans-nasal endoscopy is very 'patient friendly'. I am sure a lot of patients will find your experience quite helpful. Best wishes. Dr Naqvi

My previous endoscopy which was 2 years ago was horrendous the doctor did not attempt performing the procedure through my nose and went through my mouth. It was extremely painful and distressing and I was not given the option of sedation. I was therefore extremely anxious yesterday. I needn't have been. The nurse who did the pre checks was very reassuring and made it clear that if Dr Naqvi was unable to insert the endoscope through my nose he would give me sedation before going through my mouth. Dr Navqi was brilliant he explained everything used the anaesthetic spray and was able to insert the scope through my nose, the procedure was not painful at all just a little uncomfortable. The worse part was the sore throat afterwards and that is a lot better already. Thank you Dr Naqvi.

I went for an endoscopy on Thursday 4th may ,I usually have sedation but Dr tipu and his team explained how it would be better if I had the procedure via my nose. they reassured me and talked me through the whole thing ,which was a lot less traumatic than I thought it would be. the only down side was the spray that went up my nose, it stung for quite a few hours and I had a headache for the rest of the day. it was like the feeling you get when you dive in a swimming pool with chlorine in......only more extreme!!

Dear patient, many thanks for your kind feedback. I am really sorry that you had a headache all day after the nasal spray. I wonder if you've had your sinuses looked at by your GP as often people with ongoing sinus issues do end up with prolonged headaches after the nasal spray. Best wishes.
