DR Stephen Taylor , Has kept me alive for many years , and he explains everything to you so you can understand rather than than giving technical names . He will go out of his way for you because he actually cares about his patience. DR Stephen Taylor is always there at the end of the phone if you have any concerns about your condition .
I was a medical student with Dr Taylor in HIV clinic today. He was extremely generous with his time and attention to my learning. He was proactive with key points I should take away from clinic, and established the context I needed to understand the cases seen. He took a very holistic approach to seeing his patients and displayed passion and desire to improve all their outcomes, not just with HIV. Patient manner was friendly and patients felt very comfortable with him.
I was lucky to see Dr Taylor when I was first diagnosed with HIV in 2006 and thankfully he has stayed my doctor and steered me through the ever changing world of HIV medication.
Every decision I made was made clear to me and this has enabled me to change my therapy as newer and more improved medication became available.
Everything has always been explained to me and any questions I had have always been answered.
I feel incredibly lucky to have had Dr Taylor as my doctor and long may this continue.

Excellent old school doctor who actually puts the patient first. Very caring, knowledgeable and approachable. Other care practitioners could learn a lot from him.
Maybe the NHS should clone him.
Dr Taylor has been looking after my care for the last twenty years, after I was first diagnosed with HIV in March 2003. Coming as it was at the time as an incredible shock and I guess fear of the future. Over the years he has given me the utmost care, respect, with very careful consideration of my wellbeing in all aspects, physical, emotional and meantal health.
When times were tough he was honest and explained any issues, difficulties and problems clearly and patiently, at all times giving me his best professional advice and guidance, but leaving me to make the final decisions. I felt completely empowered and this really helped me manage the sometimes difficult choices to be made e.g. when to move to meds, when to change them etc.
As time progressed and I reached a point of stability, good health, dealing with a condition that will never go away, but with the care and advancements in medicine, knowing I have a long life ahead of me, Dr Taylor has always maintained the highest standards or care, always giving time to listen, always there to answer questions etc.
I cannt honestly think of anything that could be improved in the long time I'm been his patient. I've been blessed to be under his care and at times I don't think I would even be here without him (and the whole team at Heartlands).
All I can say is a huge, heartfelt, thank you.
