Both my children ( ages 5 with autism and 15 mental health issues)have seen Dr Ali in the last week, and I (and they) could not be happier with their treatment. Dr Ali always makes them feel comfortable, cared for and listened to. He showed my children a lot of understanding and patience,

Profile

I am a medical professional with a comprehensive background in General Medicine and specialise as a General Practitioner (GP). Graduating from St Bartholomew’s and the Royal London School of Medicine in 2001, I hold both a Medical Degree and a 1st class Honours Bachelor of Science degree. My particular expertise lies in Dermatology, where I have dedicated substantial time and effort to enhance my skills.

Recognizing the gap in dermatological training among medical professionals, I proactively pursued advanced education, completing the Diploma in Practical Dermatology at the Royal London Hospital. This was followed by an enriching two-year experience working under the guidance of Dr Portia Goldsmith and Professor Rino Cerio at the Royal London Hospital. Subsequently, I co-ran the Tower Hamlets Dermatology Clinical Assessment Service (Dermatology CAS), solidifying my knowledge and skills in dermatology—a proficiency that directly benefits my patients.

Driven by my passion for education, I expanded my role to become a GP educator, sharing my expertise with aspiring GPs for over 15 years. In addition, I have actively engaged in medical student education and training at my practice, and extended support to overseas doctors in their journey to qualify as GPs.

While my dedication to patient care remained unwavering, I recognised the impact of higher-level decisions on healthcare delivery. In response, I actively participated in shaping healthcare policies by being elected to the Tower Hamlets CCG Board. Serving as a CCG Board member for over 4 years, representing the Isle of Dogs (Canary Wharf), I contributed significantly to the redesign of existing services. This involvement granted me invaluable experience in making services more patient-friendly, efficient, and cost-effective, including the procurement of Dermatology services, MECs clinics and the redesigning of Gastroenterology pathways.

Presently, I serve as a GP Partner at the Burham Practice in Burham on Crouch, seamlessly integrating my medical and dermatological expertise to provide high-quality care to NHS patients. My multifaceted experience not only enriches my practice but also positions me as a dedicated advocate for patient-centered healthcare and efficient service delivery.
