Dr. Denny's words and works are like those gentle streams you found in Buckinghamshire: comforting, without much up-and-down, and crystal clear. I was very nervous initially when I talked to him--or anyone. But I trust him just after exchanging a few words, yet I still have no idea why (magical). Perhaps he is a very good listener, and very experienced too--his guesses on my age, personality and life style are spot-on. But the most helpful about his secession is his insightfulness: explaining what happen in my mind from complete new and different angle, and being very persuasive, and positive. I would be very happy if I can talk to him more often in the future.

I was nervous, including about the tech and the time frame, but Dr Denny put me at ease immediately. He was kind, professional, took gentle authority over the session and lead so that I didn't have to be worried or anxious. I felt safe, and I felt heard, and not pushed or probed into any situations or decisions. I can be a talker, but he kept me gently on task. I think I expected the session to be a clinical questionnaire that I probably could have done by myself, a tick-box exercise - but it wasn't like that at all. Under his guidance I was able to talk about the things that matter to me, and he helped me understand next steps. I should also mention that I was looking for someone who knew about cPTSD, and Dr Denny certainly does. Finally, I will say that he has given me hope that life can be different, that it's time for a change, that with a little hard work and the right help I can find peace.

Nice enough guy, but not feel as though he was taking me seriously. Hard to get a word in. After the assessment i felt as though i had hardly revealed anything. Felt as though he was trying to get rid of me, like he was still working for the NHS.

Dr Denny made me feel welcome, at ease, comfortable, and among other things Dr Denny really cares. I'm sure anyone reading this can think of a time where they saw a medical professional and afterwards you came away thinking, wow they cared, they listened, and I could tell they actually wanted whats best for you. Well look no further than Dr Denny he is all of that and more, I cannot express how glad I am, that I chose Psychiatry UK, and even more so that I saw Dr Denny. I chose Dr Denny because not only does he have a wealth of experience, but also all of the reviews from patients are all positive. After having an appointment with Dr Denny I can confirm all of those positive reviews with my own experience, I am extremely greatful Dr Denny thank you!

Profile

I am a Consultant Psychiatrist. I was an NHS Consultant in Adult Mental Health for over 20 years and now work privately.

I trained as a doctor at Bristol University. I have a degree in Psychology and a Certificate in Psychotherapy. I became a Member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists in 1996 and a Fellow of the College a decade ago.

I make sure my patients receive a comprehensive assessment and appropriate treatment. In addition to prescribing medication, my psychodynamic approach helps to understand how past experiences relate to present difficulties. This can often be the key to recovery.
