I was lucky enough to have Dr Leech insert my port in June 2020 and remove it today. The port made administration of my chemo for Hodkins Lymphoma simple. I was a ale to carry on with my life as normal and I didn’t have a single issue. I’d had a PICC administered before which was far more difficult to live with and causes lots of issues including a blood clot. Dr Leech and the nurses were utterly brilliant. Professional and kind.

Prior to starting chemotherapy in July 2020 ... Dr Leech fitted a port to bypass using my veins to take blood & administer the chemo. I would recommend this if offered to you as it took a lot of stress out of a very difficult time for myself & was far easier to incorporate into my life when not in use compared to a pic line which I have had fitted in the past. Thank you x

I was very lucky to have Dr Leech performing the operation to surgically implant my portacath for chemotherapy. My experience was really positive, no complications, infection or discomfort whatsoever. The portacath made my chemotherapy so straightforward. The scar was neat and almost invisible. Today I had Dr Leech to remove the device and it was another seamless experience. I know it is not possible to choose who looks after you but if you do get Dr Leech you are very lucky.

I had a portacath fitted, prior to the start of chemotherapy, back in March and I am due to have it removed in November. Words do not convey how grateful I am to Dr Leech and his team for their care, kindness and professionalism. Naturally, I was pretty anxious about the whole event, this was the start of my journey with cancer but was very quickly put at ease and Dr Leech explained everything to me in ‘user - friendly’ language. The whole event was made as stress free as possible and the team were lovely. I know that my return visit will be a similar, positive experience and I will always be grateful. Dr Leech was with me at the start of my treatment and the removal of the portacath will signal the end of this particular chapter of my life. A massive thank you for Dr Leech’s involvement and expertise.

A Portacath was suggested to me before starting chemotherapy to facilitate blood tests and treatment fortnightly. It was also of great benefit following surgery for all the blood tests and medication. Dr Leech took time to explain the procedure, the device and how it worked. The theatre staff were efficient, calm and friendly which made for a relaxed atmosphere with no anxiety. I am soon to have the Portacath removed and know I shall be in expert and kind hands. Dr Leech, his wife and secretary Elizabeth and his team are to be highly recommended.
