My son was diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor in Oct 2016 in the Ulster hospital and was transferred up to the Royal under the care of Ms Nicola Johnston and her team in the Neurosurgery ward and the care he was given by them was outstanding! Nicola performed the surgery and did an amazing job (miracles do happen). I will always be indebted to her for basically saving my son's life, she is warm, friendly and very approachable and goes out of her way to make sure her patient and they're family are well cared for. I can`t recommend this amazing woman highly enough and me, my son and our family will forever be very grateful to her.

I was dignosed with a cystic brain tumour June 2016. As the tumour was life treating it could not be operated until swelling of tumour came down, I was put on steroids for a few days before DR Nicola operated on me. Throughout my 5wk stay in The Neurosurgery ward I got outstanding care from Nicola and the rest of the medical team. Dr Johnston had so much time and love for her patients. She's an kind, loving Dr who listened and could have a 'yarn' with. She is an amazing lady and I'll forever be grateful to her and all the nursing staff in Neurosurgery Dept. Grainne Madden.
