I recently had an awful experience at the Rheumatology Department that I have been attending for many years with a Dr Catriona Grigor. She was incredibly abrupt and rude, and didn't seem to know my past history and didn't seem interested in what I had to say but rather made several assumptions about my lifestyle. She was very dismissive in her manor, and I found the whole experience very upsetting as I have been battling with my illness for over twenty years. I have requested that with my next review that I see a different consultant - one who has empathy and understanding along with essential people skills.

My one experience of a consultation with Dr Grigor was highly positive. She listened carefully and gave time and thought to answering my questions. She certainly seemed to be a very direct person but I also felt free to speak openly.

Catriona Grigor is, without doubt, the rudest and most brash doctor I have ever had the displeasure of meeting. And, because of the complexities of my health, I have had to meet a great number of doctors and health care professionals over the years. I have taken note of this woman's name as I most certainly do not want to meet her at the Centre for Rheumatic Diseases (Glasgow Royal Infirmary) ever again. She has appalling manners and absolutely no interpersonal skills for dealing with patients who are already feeling particularly sensitive.
