I struggled for almost 3 years with pain in my left shoulder. 2 steroid injections (including one administered with the aid of a scanner) lasted just a few short weeks. I was eventually referred to Mr Hatrick. Following a review of my notes, a few questions and a physical examination he had recommended surgery. The operation was carried out at Princess Royal Hospital (August 2020 -just after the first covid lockdown restrictions were lifted). I had every confidence in Mr Hatrick but I was still apprehensive about the extent of my 'return to normal'. I needn't have worried - I wont be swinging from a trapeze or lifting heavy weights any time soon but I no longer have to worry about being able to carry out everyday tasks. I would have no hesitation whatsoever in recommending Mr Hatrick to anybody.

After a disappointing operation to my right shoulder by a different surgeon, I asked my doctor if i could get a second opinion and Mr Hatrick's name was suggested. I am so pleased that it was, as after our first consultation he did not mask over anything about what was wrong and how we was going to go about getting me sorted, which put mine and my wife's minds at ease. So off I went for my MRI scan and in a blink of an eye I'm back seeing Mr Hatrick to work out a strategy for my operation on my left shoulder. So on 31st December 2020 I turn up at Haywards Heath Hospital for my opp and straight away Mr Hatrick was putting my mind at ease about the task ahead of him. Now six months down the line the difference in my shoulder is amazing, and in that time Mr Hatrick and his team have helped me so much in my recovery. Many thanks for all you have done and here's to getting my right shoulder back on track Yours Sincerely Peter Mowatt

I presented with a badly injured shoulder a few weeks after the initial accident. Mr Hatrick examined me and suspected there was more damage to the rotator cuff, labrum and other areas. He arranged an MRI scan and this confirmed his diagnosis and clarified what he needed to do. Mr Hatrick comprehensively explained all the pros and potential cons of having an arthroscopic procedure and I felt comfortable in making the decision to go ahead and have the operation. The operation and the aftercare all went to plan and after many cautious weeks of online physio (no face to face due to covid restrictions) I was able to return work with a rehabilitation plan and for several months now my damaged shoulder has been functioning at about 95% of previous performance. I am following Mr Hatricks advice to avoid strenuous throwing or lifting as well as not attempting to lift heavy objects at right angles and there are no problems.

I had problems with my shoulder for at least 18 months and finally I was put under the care of Mr Hatrick and I am delighted. He Listened to my concernsand fully explained my options. I had rotator cuff surgery under his care at the amazing Montefiore Hospital in Hove East Sussex. The tear was much more substantial that I thought and he has absolutely given me my life back as this was my dominant arm/hand. Most important to me he took the time with aftercare to continue to support me as I developed post op frozen shoulder and he arranged a guided steroid injection swiftly and this allowed me to continue my recovery process. I am eternally grateful for his and his teams care.
