My Aunt was a patient on this ward for a couple of days before she died and the care she was received was wonderful to witness. As visitors we were welcomed and cared for most admirably Of particular note was the Student Nurse, Melissa Mitchell - she was brilliant We are so grateful to all the staff on the ward who cared for my Aunt - Dorothy Tallack

I was treated for a cataract and was delighted with the treatment and the amazing punctuality of all my appointments. The throughput of patients was fantastic.

Review of B7 written by a patient

I stayed overnight on the postnatal ward on Sunday, June 2nd and was discharged Monday, June 3rd. The majority of staff I came into contact with were completely lovely and the care me and my baby received was amazing. Unfortunately some of the night staff on the postnatal ward were not as friendly as I would expect. Music was being played all night and I could still hear this with my door closed. I was also struggling to breastfeed my baby around 2am when a midwife and support worker checked on me. They knew I was struggling but did not check on me again until 6am. Luckily I had managed to feed my baby during this time. In the morning I became quite tearful and emotional and a support worker came in to take my lunch order. It was quite clear I was upset but she took my order and promptly left. She did not acknowledge that I was even tearful or ask if I was okay. She left before I could say anything so I rang my buzzer. However, when the day staff took over at 8am, I felt much more relaxed and happier and I was checked on frequently. Everything was explained to me thoroughly and me and my baby were allowed to be discharged by the afternoon. The care I received during labour was also outstanding. From the Support workers, midwives, doctors, anaesthetists etc - they were all amazing and I feel incredibly lucky that me and my baby were cared for so well. Thank you doesn’t even cover how grateful we are.

QA HOSPITAL??? Hospital? More like a family home with SUPERB care all round. Cannot fault it at all - especially when considering the literally thousands of people who pass through it each week to put the pressure on. Big thumbs up to all those who work there from cleaners to consultants.

Discharge time was horrendous. Partner ring at 1.30 to say I was ready to collect, still waiting at 3.30 to be discharged

Seen by Mona for Osteopenia. She explained everything clearly and detailed the treatment that I would undergo. She was just lovely - warning of the potential risks, etc without being in the least condescending. A breath of fresh air!

Review of F5,6,7 written by a family member

The care and attention given to my husband was second to none. We were impressed with the level of care given by all staff, doctors, nurses, cleaners, dinner ladies etc. They were all very thoughtful and professional. My only complaint would be the lack of diabetic options on the menu. Even the jelly which we were told was sugar free, listed sugar as the second component in the list of ingredients! He was also regularly given sachets of sugar with his morning porridge. It’s interesting that vegetarians and vegans, which are mostly dietary choices are catered for, whereas diabetics, which is a medical condition, is not.

My Father is being cared for in the Hip Fracture Unit at the Q&A. Special mentions for - particularly outstanding - staff members Matt and Paula. There are so many challenges for patients and staff alike, and not enough thanks! So THANK YOU for your great care, and to the rest of the team.
