Although I had been told by the NHS 111 service that a booking had been made for me, and I received a confirming text, there was a large sign on the outside door saying they were closed, with no signs of activity inside. At first I turned away then decided to push the button to call the desk. Then I was let in and all was fine. However the sign did confuse me.

Advertised the benefit the first aid unit being available and an option instead of A&E. I had to do a Google search and look for options others may not think to do that. .

Had gone there for advice from a retired gp - his opinion was dismissed and the senior nurse on duty was on her soap box about her speciality without actually considering the details of my case

The nurse needed to listen and accept the patients view without replacing it with her own narrative

The nurses couldn’t have been nicer. They took me in fast and were very companionate, asked me all the necessary questions and did absolutely everything in a calm, rigorous and friendly manner. Couldn’t be more thankful for their kindness and professionalism. A big thank you to them (unfortunately I cannot remember their name)

On site care was great

A better way of booking, going online and being told treat yourself and then a full 111 call to get an appointment to remove a splinter was a little frustrating. It’s a great facility and should be better personed more of the time! Maybe still COVID issues I don’t know but much harder to access than ore covid.
