Review of Abingdon Community Hospital Ward 1 written by a patient

I have been treated with the utmost care and consideration on this ward. When I first came I was told by the housekeeper that this is my home whilst I am here, and that is exactly what it has been like. My wife and I live a long way from this hospital and my wife is ill, but there would always be a coffee for her as the public cafe is closed when she arrives. I cannot speak to highly of this ward and its staff. 10 out of 10

Each bed should have a hand disinfectant bottle, I.e.if the urine bottle is used during the night the only opportunity to clean ones hand(s) is not until after breakfast when one has been eating toast with ones hands. Most wards are woken up at 6.00 ish and most patients would welcome the offer of a hot drink at this time whereas the first offer of a hot drink is with breakfast some 2. - 2.30 hours later.

As far as I am concerned the care was second to none and could not be improved.
