The waiting room is clean and tidy. This was the only good part of our visit
Suggested improvements
Whilst I appreciate my daughter is 14 and competent, she is chronically shy and reluctant to answer questions. All the questions were directed to her and I was basically told that the bullseye spots and recent return from Italy was nothing to be concerned about because there were no ticks on her body.
*Her temp was 37.3, she was told she had a low grade temp, she didn’t, this is within suitable levels.
*She was told not to worry about the increasing number of spots, that was causing her anxiety more than the sudden development of spots.
*It was implied that I had googled her spots and come to the wrong conclusion (I hadn’t googled it)
*To buy antihistamine and carry on.
*only to be concerned if she developed pyrexia or became unwell and then to return.
We then drove to another paeds a&e where my daughter was prescribed a strong steroidal cream which has cleared up the spots and they reassured that we had done the right thing. Especially as our gp practice doesn’t see spots and rashes- they advised Abingdon minors
