Once we got to speak and see the GP I felt my daughter’s infection and pain was understood. The triage medics that phoned were kind and calm and asked plenty of questions but at one point we were advised to take honey and lemon… she was in agony.

Suggested improvements
I phoned 111 when I got home from work c2100 and my daughter had had a temp of 39.5 all day. She couldn’t talk sleep barely drink and was swollen all around her neck to the point of not having one. We were on the phone for c25mins. At 0200 we were phoned for another 20 min triage and I phoned again at c0400 for about 25 mins because she had deteriorated again. At 0500 the OOOGP phoned and said bring her in. I know as a mother I am not a medic… but my instinct was she was really properly unwell and I failed to get that across.
