Thank you so much to all on ward 205 for looking after my brother who had a number of injuries including a broken neck. Everyone was fantastic and what a great 2 consultants that repaired his neck. They did an amaxing job. The care by all staff was great towards my brother and family that came to sit with him to help him get through a very traumatic time. We all as a family can't thank you enough.
It had vascular surgery at ARI, and was treated with the best of care,
Everyone from the nurses to the consultants were very pleasant and kept me informed
Every step of my treatment, the surgeon who did my angioplasty told me everything she was doing and kept me calm if I started to panic.
A very well run and pleasant hospital
I was admitted to the A&E in Aberdeen on the 6th March 2018 with strong chest pains and in a state of shock as I had a feeling that my body and mind were literally shutting down. I was not sure what was happening to me and was unable to defend myself against it. That morning was one of the most terrifying experiences I had ever had. I spent most of the day under observation and undergoing all sorts of tests. The A&E crew were extremely attentive, friendly and caring and this helped me a lot. I could not imagine a better care.
Next week I visited the unit again for more tests (including a treadmill tolerance test) and my experience was the same, friendly, nice staff putting in an amazing effort so that I could feel well. We had a proper banter, laughed a lot, and the atmosphere was so good that I left the unit feeling elated, regardless of my poor overall condition.
I’d like to thank all the people in A&E who helped me on these two days. I really needed help and I got it. I’ll always remember these days as they changed a lot in my life and I’ll always remember those wonderful people as very significant in my journey through my life.
Hi,
I am writing this mail to express my appreciation for the medical care I am receiving at ARI.
I am 62 years old and have been reiceving ongoing treatment for a chronic illness at the Peter Blunt Clinic at ARI.
I would like to put on record my sincere thanks to the nurses and doctors and staff both in the Peter Blunt Clinic and X-ray department over the past 5 years.
Keep up the good work
Had an App at the Breast Screening Dept ( purple Zone ).
All the staff were first class ! So caring and understanding .
Thank you all for making my visit so stress less ,
Fiona Alden ( Huntly)
Recently I have been in cardiac, urology and pulmonary and only have praise for them. Thanks to all of you.
The staff were very friendly and helpful
Staff on the whole very friendly. However overall experience stressful due to being left in side room with husband and young daughter (who wanted to stay till I was given a bed) for almost two hours until I was clerked in by member of staff. Eventually clerked in around 10pm.
Also moved ward with no notice they following night at 9.30pm. Nurse appeared with a porters chair and said "All packed and ready to move then?" I had no idea I was being moved. After I got the ok to go home today was delighted to be leaving but forgot doctors letter had to be issued before I could go. Over half of the ladies in my ward and I waited over three hours for a letter to leave. We were all hanging about with our suitcases in our cul de sac of a ward and not a doctor to be seen the whole time.
There were rarely doctors about, only sweeping into ward for quick ward round, leaving most patients waiting hours for information on progress. Many patients in my ward seemed dissatisfied with this level of input and a couple in my ward did not want to share new symptoms with doctors due to a lack of trust in their care.
I am used to working in hospitals for over 20 years and so did not find the experience that daunting but even I found it quite frightening being pushed from one ward to the other and never seeing the same doctor.
The ARI is a great hospital and is good for the people of Aberdeen.
Access to this hospital is vastly aided by being a transport hub, and with the inclusion of shuttle busses.New signage is not as clear as previous. Massive signs with large amounts of information are counter productive.
