I am extremely happy with the recent knee replacement operation performed by Mr James Gibbs and his team at the Nuffield Hospital in Brighton. This was my 2nd knee replacement and I was amazed at how quickly I recovered from this operation compared to the previously one and I put this down to the skill of the surgeon. I have total confidence in Mr Gibbs and am thankful for what he has done for me and I am looking forward to being mobile and active again. I cannot recommend him highly enough.

Mr Gibbs has done a brilliant job with my hip replacement. From the minute he saw the x-ray and advised I needed a total hip replacement to my 6 week discharge he has been most professional, caring and sympathetic. Mr James Gibbs MB BS, Msc, FRCS (Tr & Orth) is a Specialist Consultant in Orthopaedics & Trauma in Surrey and Sussex specialising in hip, knee and sports injury conditions. He is one of the region’s leading Robotic Surgery experts and is an invited speaker in the field.
He regularly manages hip and knee conditions along with sports injuries. He performs above average numbers of hip and knee replacements including Robotic surgery, partial knee replacement and hip resurfacing. He is also a specialist in redo joint replacement surgery. He also performs key-hole surgery and ligament reconstruction for soft tissue and sports injuries. He has an interest in joint preservation treatments for arthritis such as visco-supplementation and corrective osteotomy surgery.
He has been an NHS Consultant at Brighton & Sussex University Hospitals NHS Trust since 2011.
