Mr Gibbs replaced my left hip at the Montefiore Hospital in Hove. His standard of care is excellent, before, during and after the procedure. I appreciated his matter of fact manner the reassurance he gave me. It was the first operation I have ever had and although anxious I knew I was in safe hands. 6 weeks on and I'm walking free of crutches and a limp. Back to my 10,000 steps a day which I find unbelievable in such a short amount of time. I could not be more delighted or recommend Mr Gibbs any higher.

Had a hip replacement privately at Nuffield in 2018 and have just had a knee replacement on NHS at Montifiore. Excellent care at Montifiore even though NHS. Mr Gibbs is a lovely man and always listens to any problems and explains everything very clearly. Had pain from good knee and checked it over when I saw him at 6 weeks checkup for right knee replacement. To see him in 6 weeks if no better. Have complete confidence in him.

Mr Gibbs was highly recommended to me by one of his colleagues and I couldn't have wished for a better surgeon and a very knowledgeable and friendly man!!!
I felt totally at ease and very safe in his hands. He made sure to come and see me several times prior and after the operation.
He was very thorough in all the different stages of my hip replacement, provided plenty of reassurance throughout and is overall very approachable, caring and friendly.
Would highly recommend him to anyone who might feel anxious about their operation / treatment.

I have had a hip replacement & a total knee replacement both done by James Gibbs. Can’t recommend him highly enough, a brilliant surgeon & you can talk to him, get a full explanation, all questions answered & he makes you feel like your in the best hands. Nice neat stitching too!
