I was treated very quickly due to issue had.
Both the nurses and Dr who dealt with me listened to me asking appropriate questions to know what needed doing.
The care given was excellent and know this wasn’t just for me, the whole unit is very patient friendly.
They were very understanding & compassionate and answered all my questions I wanted
Referred to grimsby hospital from scunthorpe which needs knocking down due to the very very poor standard how the doctors can be qualified is beyond belief were as grimsby was out standing doctor Joe was first rate if my wife granddaughter or myself needs any treatment we shall go to grimsby scunthorpe is a incompetent hospital and should be shut down I would not take a animal to be treated there because they would only referred you somewhere else because they are incompetent
I was pushed to the back of the queue, put on a ward waiting for Drs to come & give me a plan of action everyday however that did not happen. Everyday at the end of the day, a different dr came to see me and told me something different to the previous dr. No one gave me one answer and no plan if action with regards to diagnosis or treatment. They did not know what they were looking for. I went in for stomach pains but got told I was being kept in due to my heamoglobin levels being really low and that they would contact the Heamotologist in Hull the next morning to see if i needed a blood transfusion however that did not happen & another Dr mentioned I needed an iron infusion so not sure what their plan was as I was not informed of anything further on this matter. I also had a scan which was requested by one of the surgeons to check for my appendix but as i am pregnant the appendix wasnt identified so the Dr came after my scan to say i could get discharged and continue with antibiotics at home & come back on monday for a blood test but they just needed to run the report past the surgeon. I waited all day for this, chasing the drs & midwifes up only to find out that the drs had left.
So as i wasn't being treated for my other symptoms or diagnosis except for infection, i decided to self discharge as i was being pushed around & i have 2 little ones at home also.
The nurse that treated me was excellent.
Very satisfied with the treatment I received
4 hour wait to correct wrong prescription given on the first visit 3 days previously - told by doctor on the second visit to throw first prescription away it was useless for my condition!
Once I saw the doctor on the second visit he was polite, competent and reassuring
The staff looking after my daughter were amazing. So kind and compassionate
I have given the ratings because once I eventually saw a doctor everything was fine. However a 5 hour wait is unacceptable. I guess this was due to staff available exceeding demand. I had severe infected wounds and was in a lot of pain. In the 5 hour period there was no verbal contact with anyone, no triage or any contact.
All staff efficient kept me informed dr was very good left feeling more at ease
