I visit the podiatry dept twice a week. Every time I come to the clinic the front doors open so suddenly they nearly knock me off my crutches.
Receptionist very nice and professional. However, the service is very slow and I believe this could be improved if there was a sign politely requesting that when patients number is coming up they take off their coats and jumpers etc and be ready for their blood test. It works for other clinics to save time. We do not all have the leisure time to sit about waiting.
There is nothing wrong with the care at this clinic but I came three times to find absolutely no parking (or in nearly street) too far to walk and no bus stop in my area. The phone no. in tel directory is incorrect and not been updated. Otherwise lovely!
It's absolutely ridiculous that we have to wait 1.5 hours to have a blood test, surely if it's the ward why everyone that works in this clinic not trained to take blood and called when required or employ part time doing blood taken that treat people as human beings. I don't think it's difficult to sort out this problem. Management sort this need out.
The centre provides a location for visiting clinicians from many services to see patients locally. There would be an impact on patient appointments should clinic lists be interrupted to assist the Phlebotomy department. The Phlebotomy service is managed centrally from St Marys Hospital with the Ryde Health and Wellbeing Centre being a location which allows the public an alternative to travelling to Newport. The service provided is a 'sit and wait' and the length of wait is unfortunately determine by the volume of patients attending which at times can be considerable.
No disabled parking.
Dangerous walking and automatic entrance doors.
On arrival there was a gentleman exiting the building as the doors were open we continued to enter the building, however, the door began to close on us and we had to put up our arms to stop it closing. At this point the doors did open but it was very dis-concerning.
I didn't get any care - Wed 2/4/16 - waited for one and three quarter hours but had to leave as I had an appointment at 11 to keep.
Came this morning - had to queue outside with loads of other people - the doors could be opened earlier rather than when the first appointment is due to happen!
There must be a little more efficient system - this is archaic.
In response to the above review I apologise to anyone who has to wait outside until the centre opens. The Phlebotomy staff arrive before clinic to allow themselves time to set the clinic room up ready for an 8:30am start. The Phlebotomists would not be in a position to assist with any enquiries relating to another service, several of which take place at the centre, from anyone who may arrive before reception opens at 8:30am. In the interests of security for clinic users the main doors can not be opened until reception is manned. Phlebotomy is a 'sit and wait' service and length of wait is determined by the volume of people attending which at times can be considerable particularly at the start of the day.
The receptionist kindly gave me an estimate of timing which was spot on. Lovely friendly staff on reception.
I have already today completed a questionnaire today. I strongly believe that you should monitor the work rate of some individuals working here in particular, doctors, PA's and other office or consultant personnel. Thee is too much walking about, killing time.
Time waiting excessive.
