I had a blood test. Was told my sugars were high so needed a retest.
I had a phone call saying I would have a phone appointment in 2 weeks time.
The nurse eventually rang and said they were expecting me at the surgery for a face to face appointment. I would have preferred this but was told it was a phone appointment.
The nurse said my blood sugars meant I was now Type 2 diabetic. She asked about my diet and said they I were prescribing metafomin.
The phone call cut off. I rang the surgery but could not get through to the nurse. The receptionist said she would get her to ring me back. I waited. Eventually I got a text but no phone call.

Dr foster came out to my house to do my annual review. He is my main gp and is always very good. He understands my condition and does everything he can to help. Always pleasant and polite

My appointment with the nurse was easy to obtain and also follow ups with clinical
Practitioners, however I also needed to make an appointment with a doctor and although the receptionists were very helpful, it was hard to secure an appointment. They did eventually manage to find a telephone appointment for Saturday but considering my concern is with a skin issue, I would have preferred a face to face.
I can’t fault the service I received though, apart from that.
I had an excellent experience today with Dr RH,
who carried out the unpleasant procedure with great care and also made me fully aware of all the issues around this procedure for me now and in the future. I could not have had a better experience and am relieved and grateful.

I used econsult which I believe is the only way to get an appointment?
