Mr Dubey see my file after some one else and asked me to tell him what was going on with my body and what I had already had done so far, he noticed there was more going on with my body than was first thought. I needed surgery urgently and explained what would be done. Mr Dubey got done what I needed which made a great difference

Mr Dubey was extremely prompt in contacting me to explain I had a prolapsed disc, and recommended urgent surgery to rectify. His explanation and detail of the procedure and pre-post op expectations were thorough and felt supportive. Unfortunately, my surgery date was postponed 3 times due to issues outside of Mr Dubey's control and he called me direct to explain reasons and to reassure I was not forgotten. On the date of the operation, Mr Dubey visited after surgery to check I was doing well, and reassured all had gone fine. Post discharge however was not as positive an experience. I was informed I would have a 6 week check up after the operation, and had to chase the hospital multiple times and press the difficulties I was experiencing in order to have an appointment 10 weeks later due to still experiencing severe pain. Mr Dubey was almost dismissive during our meeting unsure of why I was there, and I was made to feel like I was wasting time by pushing for the meeting I should have had 4 weeks prior. It felt like I had to press my concerns several times in order to be taken seriously, and was still discharged despite being told other wear and tear within the discs could be causing the issues I was experiencing. I was left feeling disheartened and disappointed.

Mr Dubey is a brilliant surgeon. He performed a life saving operation on my fractured neck fusing my skull to my neck. He is also an extremely compassionate man with a good sense of humour. He is a very good listener and explains clearly what is happening throughout the whole process.

I was put off twice, I understand that emergencies happen, but it is still annoying, stop meds, start meds, stop meds, start meds, but 3rd time lucky my L4/L5 surgery went ahead. My Doctor kept me informed of all proceedures and also any pitfalls. My stay in GWH was as suggested ,in on Tuesday home on Wednesday. With the chronic under funding by government past and present does not help the situation. How to improve is a very difficult thing, in an ideal world every one would be treated as and when required with out delays. The calm assurance of Mr Dubey made a worried patient relaxed. My "op" has been successful, now for a slow and easy recuperation. Thanks to the Surgical team, and the nurses that looked after me
