Mr Bhatia saw me concerning chronic back pain and confirmed a diagnosis of spondylolis thesis. He further referred me for physiotherapy which helped a little but didn’t solve my problem. I was placed on a waiting list for surgery. He performed an L5/S1 spinal decompression to relieve my pain. Mr Bhatia explained clearly the surgery he would perform, outlining potential risks and benefits. Immediately following the surgery Mr Bhatia assured me that he had achieved the objectives of the operation and anticipated that I would, in due time, recover well. Now, six weeks after the surgery, I have had a further positive consultation. I am grateful to Mr Bhatia for the work he has undertaken on my behalf and would recommend him to any potential patient seeking his help.

Mr Bhatia has recently operated on my spine which was a long and complex operation with a successful outcome. Throughout the time leading up to the operation he offered sound advice and guidance which gave great reassurance to what was a worrying time for me and my family about the way forward. Mr Bhatia listened to my concerns and answered all my questions not only in face to face appointments but also via email when needed. I was so very lucky to have had Mr Bhatia conduct this operation – he is a brilliant neurosurgeon, thoroughly professional yet friendly and approachable – and I cannot thank him enough for giving me a better life going forward.

The professionalism, care and support shown by Dr Bhatia was first class. From the very first consultancy meeting, to the operation itself and the following check ups, Dr Bhatia has always explained every step of the way with clarity and ensured I fully understood the operation procedure and next steps. I am now in the recovery phase and feeling stronger each day. Three months ago I was in agony, struggling to walk any distance and unable to hold an upright posture. All of that has changed and I owe everything to Dr Bhatia and the care shown by the NHS staff at GWH.

The care I received was outstanding, I was very nervous about the surgery but was completely put at ease. The result from the surgery has given me my life back and cannot thank him enough. I was in constant pain which stopped completely after the skill of the surgeon. I was also given fantastic care by all the nursing and care staff.
