I highly recommend Psychiatry UK. It has literally changed my life over the course of a year from diagnosis to medication. My questions were always answered quickly and professionally and I felt my hand was held virtually throughout the process.

I have had overall a positive experience. I have learned a lot about myself too. For me my diagnosis came late in life so it had been hard to come to terms with having ADHD I was afraid of medication. Today I can say it has changed my life I’m settled as I will ever be and I am grateful for the referral

PUK was recommended by a colleague and from start to finish the process has been excellent. From GP referral, diagnosis, consultations and titration, care has been rigorous, thorough and caring. When one treatment was not working very well my titration specialist was available and advising me straight away, even at weekends. A really professional and caring outfit that is helping people with neurodiversity get the help they need in a way that is sympathetic to them. I can't thank them enough.

Couldn't be happier with the treatment and care I have received from Psychiatry UK. Waiting times were communicated clearly, and were significantly less than NHS waiting times. At every step, and with every practitioner, I have been treated with respect, listened to, and made to feel validated and a part of the process. Practitioners are knowledgeable and dedicated. A process that I had been putting off for years, was made to be an easy and effective one. Thank you.

I have had really bad ADHD my whole life, and only after coming to London did I get diagnosed. I was on a waiting list for 9 months, but eventually I chose to take medication. My prescriber was incredibly gentle and patient with me, even though I was late sometimes to update her on my BP (ADHD is hard) but eventually it got easier to see the effects of the medication. We openly communicated and not once was I contested on my personal experience with the medication. I asked to reduce my dose and take it twice a day instead of all of it at once in the morning and she was on board with it without skepticism. It was reassuring and refreshing to have the kind of support I got during my titration period, something that had eluded me practically my whole life. I'm incredibly grateful for this experience and have been emotionally and functionally better than I have ever been before.

I am writing to express my dissatisfaction about a communication I received from the titration team at the unsuitable hour of 2am, which interrupted my sleep. When I entrusted my personal contact details to your healthcare service, I anticipated essential communication at reasonable hours, not disturbances in the middle of the night. The message stated that I have been "added back to the titration waiting list" because of a "pending investigation of floaters." However, the message did not clarify what this reinstatement involves, leaving me with several questions. Moreover, the team neglected to propose any interim measures to ensure that my treatment is not halted and that my symptoms are managed effectively during this waiting period. This oversight is troubling, as it suggests that my treatment may be paused without any consideration for alternatives. The message vaguely suggested that floaters "may" indicate underlying conditions that warrant evaluation, but did not offer any clarification on the potential severity or prevalence of these conditions. Understanding these aspects is essential for me to assess the necessity of an ophthalmological review. The message did not provide any insight into the consultant's decision-making process or the potential risks associated with proceeding without an ophthalmological evaluation. Understanding the specific concerns and rationale behind this decision is critical for me. Furthermore, I am aware of no evidence or studies indicating a correlation between the exacerbation of floaters and the use of methylphenidate, which calls into question the basis of the titration team's decision. It's concerning that the communication did not provide a point of contact for you to ask questions or seek clarification on your situation. A healthcare service should provide clear lines of communication for patient queries.

Firstly, thank you for posting your feedback. Our reviews are managed by PUK's Communications Team, so we are unable to offer any medical advice. However, we are able to feed your comments back to the appropriate teams. I am really sorry to read that you received a message at 2am; this, of course, is not standard practice. It is also concerning to hear that you feel you have some unanswered questions and are worried that your medication might be paused. We do have a dedicated team who you can speak to about your concerns. If you feel this would be beneficial, please contact experience@psychiatry-uk.com.

Ceri was incredibly helpful - responding quickly to any questions I had no matter how small. The titration process was very complicated but I felt supported to understand it and was very much involved in the process of finding the right medication for me.

Service has been fast and effective. Titration team was very helpful and patient with me when trying to find a dosage that worked well for me while minimising any side effects. Would definitely recommend (and already have recommended!) this service to others looking to get a diagnosis and treatment for ADHD.

I am happy with the care I have received. I have been able to explain my thoughts to them. And they have been able to understand even when I have been confused as to which were symptoms of Autism or ADHD. This has made things more complex. But they were patient with me while I tried to work out what I needed. The only thing I felt was quite odd was that I asked my psychiatrist to help me unpick what symptoms were causing what. And she said she simply couldn’t comment on that as it was not mentioned in the intial assessment ? So that left me feeling quite alone and vunerable. But overall an easy process with some stress but manageable stress. And people always treated me with respect and courtesy Rebecca

Firstly, thank you for taking the time to post your feedback. It is always really useful to hear about patient experiences, good or bad, so we can make sure we address any problems quickly or make changes to our service if needed. We are pleased to hear that you have found our processes relatively straightforward and have felt well-supported through your journey, although we understand that you did not feel that all of your questions were answered during your assessment. The assessment process for ADHD and autism requires patient symptoms to be assessed against the diagnostic criteria recommended in NICE guidelines and to check that they cannot be attributed to other conditions, to ensure an accurate diagnosis. This process has to be completed within a limited timeframe and does not always permit any wider discussion.
