I am shocked by the treatment I received from Dr Johnstone. I went in for a Depo-Provera injection, but aside from the reason I went, I was heavily questioned about my choice to be childfree. She actually asked my partner why he didn't want kids, and then turned to me and asked, 'And why don’t you want children?' I was taken aback as I was there for an injection, not an invasive interrogation about my lifestyle. She asked so many questions. When I told her I’d heard stories about childfree people being judged like this, she carried on and it got worse. It was also incredibly strange and out of order. She clearly did like my choice. As I female I don’t have the want for a child and clearly she couldn’t believe it. She should keep her opinions to herself. She also kept looking at my chest and then back up to my eyes several times. I was wearing a tight hoodie and a vest, but nothing was on show. As an autistic person, I found this very unnecessary and weird; I even made a point of looking down at my own chest and back up at her, but it didn't seem to register. She did it to my partner too, but not as much. Not sure why she did it. Her medical knowledge and care were also lacking. She had no idea what 'PED' means when my partner mentioned it (it fit in with another of her questions) which was very strange for a GP. She also made a big point about whether I was okay with needles; I told her I was, but if I did have a phobia, her approach would not have helped. To top it off, she put my plaster on wrong—when I got home, the spot of blood was at the very edge of the plaster. Between the inconsistent medical advice and the inappropriate judgment, this was a completely unprofessional experience. I will be filing a formal complaint via PALS as this behaviour violates GMC standards regarding personal beliefs and patient respect. Also, she was late for the appointment.

3 months and still waiting for results to be sent to my doctors surgery. Had to chase up results several times anyway. After i had a procedure i was not talked to about findings which was quite a worry. I paid for my own treatment but it was not worth what i paid. For private care i can honestly say this treatment was not as i thought it would be. Very disappointed !!

The Clinic is, in practise, incommunicado. I am receiving treatment, under the NHS, at the Candover Clinic. During this I have received 3 paper communications. One prints the words “Telephone number” followed by blank. A second gives a telephone number. The answering computer requires one of 9 options. None of the keywords in the options were on the paper. Nor were the option words familiar to my understanding of the treatment. A third gives a number, which answers with a message, that in effect says – Due to Covid, we are too busy to answer the phone. Ironically the Candover staff were insistent that I phone for any problem. I explained the problem. Finally one of the staff gave me the North Hants Hospital number. Albeit with a human, this requires option choices. None of the keywords known to the NHH Call Centre matched the keywords on the 3 papers. The Candover Administators must integrate their paper communication with their telephone communication.

Exceptionally rude staff upon entering and seem to have little to do apart from actually feel the need to make a patient feel uncomfortable by laughing as they struggle past. Three nurses found me amusing, whilst simply standing around drinking coffee by the coffee machine. I felt that the management made excuses also and went and told all the staff he could muster?! How very unprofessional and disgusting. Have they ever heard of a thing known as Covid19??? With that in mind one would think that standing around in groups and acting so awful and blasé would not have been appropriate. No staff cleaning ANYTHING either!!!! Private hospital?? REALLY? I have experienced far better courtesy, cleanliness and respect within the NHS.
