I first met Andy following two years of misery and being messed around by the NHS. I was menopausal and suffering with extremely heavy bleeding. I am 49. He told me that I was menopausal and that my bleeding was linked to fibroids, which I had removed 3 years ago and recommended a hysterectomy. I was concerned about having such a procedure so young, but Andy told me this was the only sure way to get my quality of life back. He was right. Andy is a brilliant surgeon and a safe pair of hands. He explains things clearly and is extremely honest. Not only that, he has empathy and compassion and takes the time to listen and understand. I am an extremely nervous patient and he even came to the anaesthetic room and held my hand whilst I was put to sleep. He is a marvellous human being. My surgery went extremely well and although it was difficult, he managed to keep it keyhole and so my recovery was very quick. I was back at my desk 2 weeks after a complete (radical) hysterectomy. Following my surgery we discussed HRT and Andy made sure that we got the balance right, something we are continuing to monitor. So, from start to finish I received the best care from Andy and his team and would not hesitate to (and often do) recommend him.

Mr Pickersgil carried out a laparoscopic surgery for me . I was waiting for an NHS appointment for a long time . But my condition deteriorated and it significantly affected my quality of life. I decided to see Mr Pickersgill on a private basis. Mr Pickersgill is an extremely skilled, very thorough, caring , experienced and reliable professional. My journey was stress free during pre-op , surgery itself and post op period. My recovery time was short and sweet . I would highly recommend Mr Pickersgill and his team . Thank you very much for your amazing work !

I feel incredibly fortunate to have been be reviewed and treated by Mr Pickersgill and would highly recommend him to other women considering a hysterectomy or other procedure. He is incredibly knowledgeable and a talented surgeon, i have hardly noticeable scarring and my recovery has been very straight forward. And whilst this is incredibly important, what stood out was his amazing quality, to treat with kindness. He was calm and clear, he listened and provided reassurance. He's just great.

I would most certainly recommend Andrew Pickersgill for gynaecological treatment. After making the decision to have a full hysterectomy due to many years of pelvic pain, I felt I was in very safe hands. Investigations from the start were quick and very professional and my operation was a complete success. The advice I was given was over and above what I had received from other Doctors and I would have no hesitation in contacting Andrew again should it be necessary.
