I have been trying to phone Boots pharmacy (St Peters Retail Park) since Friday - today was Monday - they are simply not answering the phone AT ALL - which is disgraceful - they often leave it ringing anyway but almost straight away now with this national crisis they are choosing to IGNORE the phone - my elderly mother cannot phone re her heart and other medications - which has caused her a great deal of anxiety - neither of us can get through - and for myself well with M.S and other disabilities I simply CANNOT get to the store myself and STILL haven't got through re my urgent meds or my mothers - worse the 'option 2' on the phone WAS answered - that is 'beauty care' - but I was told that the pharmacy staff were 'too busy' to answer the phone (since Friday- really - because other pharmacies with less staff are answering their phones) I tried option 3 - and the phone 'picked up' but the staff there at Boots could be heard discussing their unfortunately being there at all - one women holding forth on how she thought ' they shouldn't be at work at all' - after repeatedly saying hello loudly and saying could you answer the phone please' they obviously realised there was someone on the phone line - the very loud women stomped over to the phone I heard her! She literally stood over it as I could hear her breathing she hesitated then picked it up and slamned it down! If she is going into work then she should answer the phone-:don't go into work then sit there ignoring the phone loudly complaining because you are at work- NHS staff don't- neither should Boots employees! I again phoned option 2 - the 'beauty advisor' answered and completely worn down by all this I asked to speak to the Manager after explaining my being unable to gwt through and why I needed to. Then she came back and said there was nobody available - she just kept saying the pharmacy staff couldn't answer the phone because they were busy It is PATHETIC and DISGUSTING that Boots can treat vulnerable patients and customers in this way - when I was a child Boots was a good company but not now I have recorded my attempts to contact the pharmacy and the various shabby replys by the store and the complete refusal to answer the pharmacy phone for the whole of Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Monday plus the refusal of the other staff at the store to help me - this I have forwarded to the BBC website - and if I don't get a reply from Boots on the 24th March - the Tuesday then I will post it on social media because Boots pharmacy have no right to treat vulnerable patients this way
