The Optometrist was superb. She took interest in my concerns, was friendly and reassuring, explained the process, and the results. You couldn't ask for a nicer person. The member of staff who helped me looking at glass was also great. Having never worn glasses before, she let me try on lots of styles, helped with what looked good and why, and was in no way pushy for a sale. The real let down was the person on reception. When I arrived, she was on the phone (apparently to another member of staff). At no point did she acknowledge my existence. She did pause to speak to a passing member of staff, but still no acknowledgement, no "sorry, I'll be right with you" (or better, putting the other staff member on hold). In the end, I had to interrupt. She didn't seem impressed, and kept complaining to anyone who would listen how she couldn't cope with dealing with customers and whatever else was so important. It wasn't busy, there was no-one behind me, and checking me in took all of 5 seconds. Worst thing is, I think she may have been the store manager. Clearly someone is in need of customer service training.
