The staff are always friendly and really helpful, but for the second time, I feel I was upsold extras I didn't need but were "recommended". It was suggested I needed varifocal lenses after my eye test, however "varifocal" wasn't the term used they were discribed as "enhanced lenses to improve vision". Turns out a digital enhanced coating on the bottom half of my lenses was added to my prescription. When I queried this as I don't use screens as part of my job, nor do I drive frequently, I was told I "needed" it as per my new prescription and wasn't really costing me any extra because it was my new prescription. It's really rather uncomfortable trying to say no when you're repeatedly told about all the benefits you NEED. I caved in after the third round of querying the costs (which wasn't made clear until I asked specifically for a breakdown) so once again I felt forced to over the money because it all becomes embarrassing. The last time I was told I NEEDED insurance, luckily I managed to avoid that after saying no 3 times. It makes me dread my eye tests and the inevitable sales pitches and hidden costs I feel under pressure to sign for.
