Share review of Boots Opticians Ely
I was impressed with how the eye test was conducted and that the staff took me to a different branch to find out which style of glasses would be right for me.
I was less impressed that there were no examples of bi focal s for me to see as I was sceptical about the eventual appearance of them. Examples could be made available maybe?
I was also shocked at the prices quoted for bi and vari focals. My last pair of varifocals (from a different retail chain) were £99 - yet Boots quoted me £450 - I took the decision to get bi focals because of the price. How can glasses cost such different amounts?
It was not made aware at any time that I could have taken my prescription elsewhere in order to purchase cheaper glasses.
I was also informed that I was suffering from dry eyes and advised to get some drops - I mentioned this to the dispenser which was acknowledged but it was not until I returned home that I realised this had been overlooked.
I cannot fault the patience of (MEB) the staff member who dealt with me, (I find choosing glasses a particularly difficult experience) as she clearly wanted me to find frames that I would be happy with.
