I would like to post a few words in support of Mrs Sarah Rehana. During my life I have had cause to be a patient many times in many hospitals. It needs to be said that Sarah seems to go beyond, what I have become accustomed to, the duties of any nurse A pre-consultation procedure had been overlooked and needed arranging, immediately we were off to the appropriate department, where I was slotted in without any fuss or delay. When, as an out patient, I have been unable to contact the medical team she has always answered my calls and arranged appointments on my behalf. She tries to keep me in the loop as to what is going on inside of me, if there is a chance I will comprehend the technicalities. Following tests she fulfills her promises to call me as soon as she can, with the results, thereby saving me a long wait, on tenterhooks. I have read that cancer patients should be faced with as little stress as possible and Sarah, in my opinion, excels at de-stressing me. Maybe all of this is 'par for the course' as a Macmillan nurse, but it is a very comforting experience for myself and my wife, we obviously value her thoughtfulness immensely.
