Possibly like most people I was filled with some trepidation about the visit of a nurse who was going to talk about and start me on self catheterisation. As soon as Leylie arrived I was put completely at ease, with her smiling and friendly approach. Her explanation of all the various aspects was delivered in a way that showed her considerable knowledge, expertise and understanding. Her sense of humour, often a lost trait in caring, was always appropriate and as a result it made this process so much easier. Should anyone reading this prior to going through the same thing be concerned, they must be reassured that you are in the hands of an extremely professional nurse and it should hold no fear.
