Although we hadn't previously met, Kati quickly put me at ease before before telling me the result of the recent PSA test. The significance of the raised level was discussed and we agreed that a further test should take place after 4 months instead of the usual 6. She also told me that another significant increase could indicate the need for a scan and I accepted that this would be a prudent response. I also mentioned that a previous spike in the PSA level while caring for my wife had dropped substantially when that responsibility ended, and I suggested that the recent spike could be linked to a back injury sustained in mid-July while trying to pull-start a lawnmower. This caused agonising pain when changing position which is only now beginning to subside; and I think it possible that as the stress caused by this episode eases the PSA level will again begin to reduce. In conclusion I felt our time together has been positive, useful and friendly. I have no doubt as to Katie's capability, competence and suitability for her role and I wish her well.
