Absolutely wonderful person and nurse always listens to what you are saying and gives good answers and great advice always willing to have a chat about anything nothing is too much trouble.

Having to cope post-operatively with leaving hospital and learning to adapt and manage a stoma and all the attendant emotions was not easy for me, but Kathryn and the Fittleworth team made it bearable and doable. As for the friendly face, compassionate support and good sound knowledge and advice I received from Kathryn, they were a welcome tonic at each visit and have enabled me to function independently and enjoy life again. After leaving hospital following radical cystectomy I felt I faced a steep learning curve living with a urostomy bag. Katherine gave me tremendous help and reassurance right from her first home visit providing me with all the tips of the trade to make changing the bag a "piece of cake' This level of care progressed through all 3 home visits and I can now easily cope with this big change in my life. Many thanks Katherine you are a star !

Kathryn is so friendly and easy to talk to. My stoma care has been conducted over the internet in virtual meeting rooms but I don’t think that mattered one bit, she still managed to come across as a caring professional with a genuine interest in me and my situation. On my return home from hospital I had problems with lots of leaks and very sore skin, Kathryn got all the products out to me I needed including a new sort of bag. It sorted out my problems straight away. Lovely service and I’m glad Kathryn is my stoma nurse.

I have worked for Fittleworth Medical for 7 years covering community visits in the South Yorkshire and North Derbyshire region, but have worked as a stoma nurse for 13 years, working within a local hospital prior to working for Fittleworth. I qualified as a nurse in 2000, and my background as a nurse has always involved working on a surgical ward specialising in Colorectal surgery.
