I was petrified! I made this known from the onset and couldn't have been more informed before, during and after my hysteroscopy today. All the staff were reassuring, caring, informed, and understanding. It was very painful for me and I was given the option to 'stop', however, I chose to continue. Mrs Selvaraj talked to me throughout the procedure, she explained everything step by step which I found really helpful, and also brought my attention to the monitor, so that I could see what was going on too.The nurse in the room held my hand throughout and post the procedure, she gave me a hug to allay my fear. All the support received was amazing, a fantastic team, THANK YOU ALL!

Although Mrs Selvara was very kind, I wish the time she took to show me the model of the uterus and that my cervix would be tight as I’ve never had children, and that to relax this I should take something to make the neck of my cervix more relaxed, was before the procedure. If she’d explained this to me earlier I would have done so instead of going through the procedure without anything. I’ve never had anything invasive like this before and more understanding would have been better. She was very nice though.
