I was not adequately informed by my GP before the procedure so was unprepared for the level of pain and intrusion. The option of anaesthetic was only offered once the painful procedure began. Lack of patient dignity: I as given a white bed sheet to cover myself with during the procedure. The procedure caused bleeding during and after. I was told to use the sheet to wipe myself before getting dressed, as a patient undergoing this procedure it was undignified to expect a woman to leave the clinic without being offered a sanatory towel or some form of protection. At the very least patients should be told bleeding may occur so that they may attend properly prepared by bringing thier own sanatory towel if the hospital is unable to offer this amenity.
