Went to A&E with possible broken thumb and tendon damage. Was triaged promptly and then went back to await X-rays. 30mins later X-rays were done. 35 mins after that I saw Nurse Practitioner who confirmed thumb wasn’t broken although X-rays would be sent to Virtual Fracture Clinic for confirmation. In and out within 2hrs, I was very pleased. Following morning, 9.30am I received phone call from the Virtual Fracture Clinic to confirm no break but tendon damage. Now awaiting call from hand Clinic, which hopefully won’t be long. I know the NHS is under incredible strain and appreciate sometimes things don’t go as smoothly but for my experience everything was excellent.
