24th April 2023

This was my first visit to Warwick hospital and I was greeted by a lovely receptionist who informed me that the waiting time was approx 3 hours. The waiting area in minor injuries was clean and had water facilities and comfortable seating. Unfortunately I waited 4 hours before I was triaged and was not asked about my injury in any detail. The doctor did not show any concern about my injury. After only a couple of questions was I asked to wait for an X-ray but only because that was the reason for my visit. After my X-ray and a further 2 hours of waiting - I was seen again by the same doctor who explained I had no fractures and ushered me out of the room with no medical advice or guidance. I proceeded to ask how I may have sustained an injury and why I was experiencing pain, and difficulty walking to which he said take painkillers and that’s it. I am still unsure what has caused my injury and what treatment I should have. I will now have to go back to my GP. I appreciate the doctors are busy but I was disappointed with the little care and advice I had received.

Suggested improvements
Provided with more informed medical advice. Better waiting times although I know this cannot be helped.
