This is a review of Wednesday night Minor Injuries & A&E treatment. Also Friday fracture clinic. A&E maybe very specific to you but they me it's the whole experience. So sorry if this mixes teams and services outside of the intended scope. We arrived in A&E at 7:30 pm we saw a case handler circa 11:00. We were then left in Minor Injuries with an empty waiting room for over an hour before the A&E support to dress the wound and inform us of the next steps took place. I was advised to starve as a minor general anaesthetic procedure may be required the next day. No phone call to advise was received. On calling the hospital the record had not been acted upon. I was given a 9:30 Fracture Clinic appointment for Friday morning. When I arrived there was no record of the appointment. Waited for an on call service consultation. This consultation happened at circa 11:15. From that point the clinical treatment was efficient. I felt well advised and supported.

Suggested improvements
The administration process failed on transfer between Minor Injuries and A&E (Wednesday Night). The next steps advised from A&E Wednesday night did not happen. Which included a starve in anticipation of surgery. The appointment for Thursday was lost. We lost a day in treatment which included another Starve by association with the initial instruction. The appointment on Friday was also lost. Which resulted in an on call service ( excellent service by the way)
