2nd April 2023

I went in to Warwick hospital for a tonsillectomy operation and was very nervous upon arrival as my dad couldn’t stay with me. As soon the nurse (Helen) took me through to ask me questions, I was at ease. Helen made me feel so safe and comfortable and even came through to the anaesthetist with me to hold me hand which I was so grateful for. Both anaesthetists were lovely and so understanding that I was nervous and reassured me whenever they were doing anything. When I woke up, I was cared for so well. The surgeons came and saw me and let me know how every thing went which was reassuring. All the nurses looking after me were so lovely and really attentive to anything I needed. When I was finding things difficult and was a bit sad, the nurses comforted me and called my dad in to come and sit with me. They held my hand and spoke to me and got me yoghurts and ice cream. They were so on top of doing anything they could to make me feel better. Being only 19 and going in for an operation on my own was scary, but I couldn’t have asked for better treatment from all the staff at Warwick hospital that looked after me. Special mentions to nurses Helen, Michelle, Tracy, Jo . S, Jackie, student nurse Sonia, surgeon mr Muzaffo and the other doctor who’s name I didn’t manage to get. I would definitely feel comfortable and safe to go to Warwick hospital again. Thank you all.
