Thank you to all the staff on wintle ward, particularly Benny, Dette, Jane and Ruth
I spoke to PALs re staff not understanding a person is well and whether a clinician has to get an all clear from another clinician and she said that isn’t how it works but that is exactly how it works after all according to their rules no clinician could know they are well off their own accord.
The staff don’t ask if you are well and do not think about how detainees will get a mortgage or car.
I am well supported and the staff are compassionate
Nurses and HCAs are very compassionate and do their very best to provide care, help, and time. Their support is greatly appreciated.
However there can be, I feel, a mismatch in communication between MDT and patient at times, and this is not always easy to ask for help with. It can feel like decisions are made for you and not with you which at times can be upsetting.
I would like more involvement in my care and future treatment
The staff looked after me when I was upset
Very good staff who are caring and supportive and
For the most part staff on the ward have treated me very kindly and done their best to support me here. When it comes to my treatment plan I have not felt very involved and it has felt very much like I have had things done to me. This has made things very stressful.
I can tell all the permanent staff are devoted to giving great care and try really hard, however, they are overstretched and this hugely impacts the quality of care they can provide.
