The staff are kind and compassionate. The co-coordinator has built a good rapport with the patient and the family she is very accessible on the telephone and listens to concerns in a supportive manner. Our psychiatrist is caring, kind, approachable and listens attentively and considers the patient and families needs and concerns and makes it clear we can change things if medication etc doesn’t work as planned.

Suggested improvements
Perhaps scheduling routine regular, in person face to face appointments after medication changes to assess its impact/effectiveness. These appointments were given on request when concerns were raised by the family with good support/monitoring following that with a slighter longer wait for a medication review than the family would have liked. Maybe it would be good to consider doing regular follow up face to face appointments as standard after a drug change to check on wellbeing and allow earlier intervention when mental health is declining. As this could prevent someone reaching crisis point and reduce stress on family and friends of the individual.
