Was admitted via GP to SDEC, then to ward 19. Although staff were friendly and accommodating little communication was involved. Appeared short staffed. However pleasant enough. Was then transferred to 15A, very welcoming HCA, (didn’t catch her name). Bed space clean. Each time the nurses came to me they went through everything they were doing. I observed them with the other patients and found them to be very patient and spent time with each of them. This was lovely to see. I was sent to theatre the student ODP (unfortunately didn’t get his nam) was absolutely amazing! I was so scared but he made me feel at ease and you can genuinely tell he loved his job. The surgeons Mr Barker and Miss Law were also amazing, very informative and understanding. Even the anaesthetist was great. In all apart from being in a lot of pain and the odd hiccup on ward 19 was a pleasant experience. As an ex employee of BVH this was lovely to see that patients still come first and that staff do actually like their jobs! It’s rare to receive positive feedback but felt they all needed to know what an amazing job they are all doing! Thank you
