It's not necessarily the staff as there are some great staff working in the wards but the management at this hospital seriously needs to be sacked!!!! I cannot believe what I have witnessed - I have seen negligence which has resulted in death! But how do you proof that? I have seen healthy people deteriorate. I have seen have seen admin issues, I have seen staff lost in desperation because of ridiculous policy instead of being able to care. I have seen doctors who are lost and beyond empowerment and unable to break free from policy and process and so unable to do what you expect doctors to do. Nor what they would like to do. Seriously God help us!!!

"A&E staff very professional and included me in decisions made and explained the next stages of transfer to the Walton Centre. MRI completed within two hours of arriving and results available to doctors/consultants. Handing over to Walton Centre very efficient and staff know exactly who and what to expect. Ward and bay staff very welcoming, caring, considerate, compassionate and professional. Having been accessed with a few possibilities of what was wrong, made comfortable and very well looked after and reassured. Second doctor/consultant - I received mixed messages from and decisions not explained. I got the feeling he just wanted to get me into surgery without ever considering me. I would wish for patients to be shown scans/MRI images to talk through the prognosis being given. Finally saw another consultant who wanted me to go to surgery two days later without any real discussion or interaction. I refused and requested the consultant who had looked after me previously. Thank God my request was granted to my relief. I saw a wonderful physio who lifted my spirits and gave me hope I would recover fully, eventually. We went through all exercises I had been doing at home, he gave me more exercises and showed me how to adapt them with spinal injury. Specialist nurses very understanding and caring especially when others do not have time to answer your questions. Specialist nurse answered many questions and worries I had. She was very kind and reassuring. Thank you for the hug! Thank you to all the nursing staff and everyone on floor 1 who supported me. I now must attend clinic and talk about a major spinal operation I will have to have in the very near future. I will report back with additional feedback when completely well. Thank you for the NHS, consultants, doctors, nurses, specialist staff and for all those who work at Aintree"

EYE DEPARTMENT (ophthalmologist) My mum has lost half her sight due to a stroke and suffers with wet macular degeneration which can make you blind if you do not get the injections in your eye ball. We went to the hospital on a Saturday because my mums sight was going and they told us to come back on Thursday, we come back on a Thursday but the nurses where unable to find a vein in my mums arm to inject the dye in my mums arm and told us to come back in 12 days. We come back today and Nurse injected a dye and found a leakage in both eyes and told us to come back in 16 days when she can have an injection in one of her eyes and a week after that in the other eye. By that time my mum will be almost totally blind, she needs treatment now. How many other people are going blind because they are not acting quickly enough ? Its like we are a third world country.
