The food suppliers have changed and the ice cream/ sandwiches are not the same standard they used to be. There are very little luxuries when you are sectioned so having the old suppliers made a huge difference . Also the consultant on the ward seems to have a very dim view on how to help people presenting with personality disorders and seems to have conflicting opinions one day after the next . For example no leave because of risk one day , and fully discharged the next The trust as a whole doesn’t have the capability to look after patients with personality disorders and as such I think the PD pathway should be reviewed ASAP as people are suffering Some of the ward staff are friendly but they are overstretched. I feel “protected time” would be of benefit being reintroduced, as from a patient view it seems as though staff are mostly in the office and it feels very us and them .
