My recent experience with The Sloane Hospital, particularly regarding an appointment with Professor Dorota Dworakowska in the endocrinology department, has left me thoroughly dissatisfied and frustrated. I scheduled the appointment in May for June 18th, based on positive reviews of Professor Dworakowska. However, what should have been a straightforward process turned into a deeply disappointing ordeal due to multiple communication failures. Upon booking the appointment over the phone, I received an email confirmation from the hospital, which I promptly added to my calendar and marked the sender to ensure all further emails would be flagged. However, 12 days prior to the appointment, I received an email from an unfamiliar sender, which I overlooked at the time. This email erroneously stated that my appointment was cancelled, but it also included an incorrect time. Amidst a busy work schedule and upcoming travel plans, I missed this crucial email and only discovered it when I called the hospital to inform them, I might be a few minutes late for my appointment. To my dismay, I was informed that the clinic was closed that day and my appointment had already been cancelled. Shockingly, I had not received any prior notification of the cancellation via phone call or text, despite the hospital's assertion that they do not utilise these forms of communication and rely solely on emails. It was only later that I found emails in my spam folder form Professor Dworakowska’s team offering a video consultation instead of the face-to-face appointment I had originally booked for the preceding day. This entire experience underscores a profound lack of professionalism and patient care at The Sloane Hospital and within Professor Dorota Dworakowska's team. In stark contrast to the expected standards upheld by NHS hospitals, where diligent efforts are made to promptly notify patients of any changes to their appointments, I was left entirely uninformed and inconvenienced, despite my significant efforts to attend the appointment. In conclusion, based on my recent experience, I cannot in good conscience recommend The Sloane Hospital or Professor Dorota Dworakowska's services. Their failure to communicate effectively and their apparent disregard for patient welfare and appointment integrity are deeply concerning. For individuals who prioritise their time and expect dependable healthcare service, I strongly advise seeking alternatives that prioritise transparent communication and professional patient care.
