I have just completed 5 days of radiotherapy.
My greatful thanks to Dr Zaidi and all staff in Laurel.
The radiographers were brilliant. At the age of 88 I was quite freaked out by the thought of wearing a lead mask. However, they ware so kind, caring and more importantly encouraging which made my visits for treatments so much easier.

I had a stomach pain after I was injected the "thing" so I wasn't sure if this clashed with medication I was taking. There was no one to ask.

I've enjoyed the massage, music and art therapy and the parents evening. But I did'nt like staying in the bay with children way younger than I am. I wanted a room to myself or a bay with kids nearer to my age.

The service has been excellent. I had not realised just how exacting the positioning and breathing had to be. I did find the breathing apparatus difficult in the first week but it did get better!
