From the moment I arrived at the hospital, my wife & I were treated with respect and kindness. We were informed at every stage of what was happening and advised of each step of the process. Whilst I was in theatre, my wife was looked after and kept informed. For the first 24 hours after the total knee replacement It was necessary for me to be kept on HDU, as I have Obstructive Sleep Apnoiea, and the support I had there was excellent. When I returned to my room for the next 2 days, the staff on the ward were exceptional. I had regular visits and checks to ensure everything was ok and any questions or concerns I had were addressed immediately. The meal hosts were also excellent, very friendly and efficient, and the food was also excellent. The physio's who saw me on the ward were also excellent and got the balance between care and challenging just right. I felt encouraged and listened to with my concerns but was pushed at the right level to achieve realistic goals. The whole experience exceeded all our expectations.
