I have been to SMH many times and have always found the staff to be excellent - friendly and helpful. The hospital is always very clean, despite the many changes and alterations which are seemingly never ending!
The only areas for possible improvement are the car parks and entrance ways. The car parks are often inadequate and unless you are a regular visitor it is very difficult to find your way from some of them to the department you need.
Since COVID many of the entrances seem to have been closed, but signage still directs you to them. This can cause great anxiety when you then cannot find out how to get in. The car parks to the rear of the hospital now seem to require a very long trek on foot right around to the front of the building, with little/no directions available. This has got so much worse recently that it is quite at odds with the improvements made within the hospital.
