The care I received from the Haematology clinic was outstanding. After receiving a very challenging diagnosis their care and professionalism made the treatment over the next 5 months easier to tolerate. Each member of the team have different personalities and together they make a very happy and coordinated team and a pleasure to be around. It’s a very busy clinic but nothing is too much trouble and the treatment is explained and carried out with respect for each patient’s needs. A big thank you to everyone. I was admitted into the Acute Medical Unit and I thought that the overall care was excellent, and the staff were very friendly and professional in the personal care provided. I felt fully involved in the decision making process with regard to the treatment given and with the follow up discussed as an outpatient. I felt that when I arrived in A&E as I was a potential stroke patient with blood pressure of 219/120, and suffering from severe headache, blurred vision and palpitations and also feeling nauseous. I felt that I should have been reviewed by the Triage Nurse quickly. Unfortunately I had to wait an hour and a half to be seen. I was only seen then as my wife queried my situation with the receptionist who immediately went and spoke to the Triage Nurse and pointed out that I was still waiting and hadn't been seen. It was then that I was called into her office and finally Triaged.

Sent by GP. Seen by a great Staff Nurse for triage, phlebotomist and then by Orthopaedic registrar. Great care. Kept informed all the way through. Discharged after 4 hours with MRI scan appointment to follow. Great care.

I attended AECU and at the end of my visit complimented them on the way I was treated. I undertook a number of tests plus x-ray and was impressed by how thorough my treatment was and how quickly the results came back so that they could explain results to me.
