I was operated at the Paterson Wing for an right inguinal hernia [2nd time] on 13th October. The care I received was excellent. Communications pre-operation were clear and timely. The operation checks staff were professional and helpful even though there was tube strike on the day and I arrived in the afternoon. On the day - the staff were very professional. They checked my name and operation and the side of my operation at least 4 times and marked me with big black feltpen marker on the right side. The anesthetist was both kind and professional [Irish Gentelman in his mid-forties]. The post-operation recovery room nursing staff were again both caring, clear and patient and I told them if they continued to care for me in this manner I would prefer to stay on permanently! One of the nurses, a Nigerian lady, even used her own mobile to call my wife who was waiting downstairs to come and take me home. Excellent care indeed!
