Information in the letter did not explain the operation that was planned e.g eye-cataract or hernia (which dad was told he did not need or at least the consultant said that dad would not benefit greatly from having it done). Upon arrival receptionist was chatting to a colleague and we felt ignored for 2 mins and (dad needed to sit down). Only then did it become clear which "operation" he was being "pre-op'd" for. Kept waiting well beyond appointment time even though only a few people also waiting. Need to state in the letter exactly what op planned.
